Baby Girl Nursery Reveal

Personal

July 8, 2020

When I was pregnant with my first, we were waiting for our new house to be built and were staying with my parents for a few months. We didn’t know our baby’s gender and since we were in between houses, I didn’t decorate his nursery until he was about 6 months old! So this time it has been fun knowing that we are having a girl and having the chance to get her nursery all set up before she arrives.

I decided to go with a celestial theme with stars, moons and clouds. I wanted the colors to all be very soft and light with a touch of sparkle! I have been so excited to do her nursery reveal for you all. Below I have linked a lot of the products that I purchased for her room for anyone who is interested. Thank you for taking the tour!

Dresser: Ikea Hemnes 8-drawer in White

I have this same dresser in Ethan’s room but in White Stain and I have to say, I prefer the White! I like that it comes with a safety strap so you can secure it to the wall. Very important in a kids room!

Crib: Babyletto Hudson 3 in 1 Convertible Crib

We switched Ethan to a big boy bed a few months ago so we were able to reuse his crib for his little sister! It comes with a toddler bar so you can convert it later on. I also have the Babyletto crib mattress as well. I appreciate that Babyletto makes non-toxic, safe baby products.

Frames: DYCacrlic Wall Mount Floating 11×14 Inch Picture Frames

I really wanted to showcase our maternity (and later newborn) pictures above the crib but I didn’t want to hang anything glass above where she sleeps! I love these floating acrylic frames I found on Amazon. I love the simple, clean look. They are super secure with four anchors and it is easy to change out the pictures. And best of all, they are not a safety hazard!

Bookcases: Pillowfort Wall Mounted Book Shelves in White

Since children’s books are such varying sizes, I like these shelves that have the books face forward. It’s nice to have bookshelves that show off the covers too so little ones can see them when picking out a bedtime story! I found these simple white shelves at Target. The basket is also from Target and is a great spot to hold her stuffed animals.

Curtains: Paradise Room Darkening Grommet Top Window Curtain in Rose

I love these soft pink curtains from Bed Bath and Beyond! I did find though that while they are room darkening, they are not blackout. So I also have a cellular blackout pull down shade mounted in the window too for extra light blocking, especially for daytime naps!

Baby Wifi Monitor: Cubo Ai Smart Baby Monitor

Ok, let’s talk about my baby monitor!!! I LOVE this product. With Ethan I did so much research trying to find the right monitor and it seemed like every single one on the market had terrible reviews. I got an audio only monitor and ended up never even purchasing a video monitor. So this time around I decided to look again and I came across this adorable little bird. You guys, it’s THE BEST. So many features and it works so well. I bought it a couple months ago so we put it in Ethan’s room just to test it out. Here is what I love about it!

  • Amazing 1080p HD video quality and night vision.
  • Comes with three different stand options. SO COOL!
  • Connects to WiFi so I can see via the app even if I am not at home.
  • Other family members can also be on the app at the same time.
  • Has roll over and face covered alerts! So important for newborns!
  • We have had zero connectivity issues. A huge must for a WiFi camera!
  • No handheld monitor that has to constantly be recharged and found around the house. You just use your phone!
  • Super encrypted and secure so you don’t have to worry about privacy.
  • IT’S ADORABLE!!!

There are too many features to list, these are just some of my favorites! So click the link and check it out for yourself. If you are looking for a baby monitor, I highly recommend this one!

Mobile: Cloud and Star Mobile from Etsy

I have to say, I am so thankful for the Etsy platform that allows talented people around the world to sell their amazing products! I could never make something like this gorgeous cloud mobile, and it’s definitely not something you could just find in a store. This is from a shop in Canada!

Garland: Cloud, Star and Moon Decoration from Etsy

Another happy Etsy find was this garland! It was the perfect thing to hang above the dresser. This shop is located in Bulgaria!

Framed Sign: Twinkle Twinkle Foil Wall Art from Etsy

I love this foil wall art, also from an Etsy shop! You can even pick the color of the foil words. The frame itself is from Target.

Changing Pad: Keekaroo Peanut Changer

This was one of my favorite baby products from when we had Ethan. It is so nice to have a diaper changing surface that is super easy to wipe clean, does not stain and does not require any laundry!!!

White Noise: Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machine, Night Light and Time-to-Rise

We have one of these in Ethan’s room too and I love it! We are big fans of white noise (get it? haha). And you know, anything that comes with an app is automatically cooler. But really, it’s a great little night light that comes with lots of options for the color of the light and the sound. It also has a time-to-rise feature so when your toddler is learning when it is ok to get out of bed or leave their room it can be a very helpful tool!

Hello Pillow: Garnell Rectangular Pillow Cover & Insert

Blanket: Fringe Throw Blanket – Hearth & Hand with Magnolia

I had the hardest time finding the right pillow for this chair!!! It took me weeks but I finally found this one from Wayfair and it’s just perfect! I love that it adds just a bit of sparkle to the room.

The little elephant is from Pottery Barn Kids. When we were trying for our first baby, we purchased one of these little Pottery Barn animals (the lamb) as a memento of our journey. So when we decided to have baby #2, the first thing I just had to buy was another one of these sweet stuffed animals!

The rocking chair we originally purchased from Buy Buy Baby for Ethan’s room. I don’t think they carry it anymore sadly. I just recommend getting one that is very comfy and has a recline feature with a footstool! It has been so great for nursing and as a bedtime reading chair later on.

Crib Sheet: American Baby Company 100% Cotton Pink Stars and Moon

I was so happy to find this sweet crib sheet that matched the room perfectly! I also really prefer cotton over microfiber when it comes to bedding. The crib skirt is also from Amazon and is by American Baby.

Vintage Baby Clothes: No link… these are from MY baby days!

My mom saved some of my baby clothes and I am so exited to have MY daughter wear them!!! Even if it’s just for a few pictures. 🙂

Bassinet: HALO BassiNest Glide Sleeper, Bedside Bassinet

Newborn Sleep Class: Taking Cara Babies

While this is not in the nursery I thought I would add it anyways since this is where baby girl will be for the first few months! I LOVED co-sleeping with Ethan. Having my baby close to me throughout the night was something I really loved. It made breastfeeding so much easier and gave me so much peace of mind being able to check on him.

I love this Halo bassinet! I chose the glide version instead of the swivel one because with the glide you can push it underneath your bed so it literally takes up NO floor space!!! Someone was really thinking with this design! I also love the mesh sides which allow you to see baby and does not pose a suffocation risk. And the side closest to you does bend down to make getting baby out easier which is a must when you are recovering from birth!

Confession time… with Ethan I really didn’t have any idea what I was doing when it came to baby sleep! There were other factors too such as not being in our own home for the first few months of his life and medical issues (Ethan was on oxygen for a long time) that made figuring out sleep difficult. Basically I nursed him to sleep every single time and he didn’t sleep through the night until he was 20 months old!

So this time around I just felt like I wanted to learn more and maybe have some tools that I didn’t last time. That’s when someone I trust recommended Taking Cara Babies. I have gone through her Newborn Sleep class and WOW… I have learned so much!!! I am optimistic that this time I will be better equipped and have a much easier time laying a good foundation for healthy sleep.

If you are wanting to have a good sleeper but are a little freaked out by harsh “sleep training” methods like I was with my first baby, you will love this class. Cara (the creator of Taking Cara Babies) provides a gentle, loving, realistic method that gives you amazing tools while still giving lots of grace for you and for your baby as you navigate this often challenging issue. I can’t wait to implement all I have learned!!!

Well that concludes our Tour! Thank you for reading and if you have any questions, please ask!

xoxo,

Elena
