I will never get over how perfect newborn babies are. Each one is such a miracle. Getting to capture that pure innocence is something I absolutely love. I met Colleen and Schuyler a few months ago for their maternity session and I was so honored to photograph that special time in their lives. Now I’ve had the privilege of meeting and photographing their beautiful daughter, Scarlett. Scarlett is one loved little girl! Her parents just adore her and her two fur siblings were so sweet and curious about her. And fun fact, Scarlett was born on Saint Patrick’s Day!

During the first half of her session, Scarlett was awake and happy to be in mom or dad’s arms. Then when she was ready to drift off to sleep, we swaddled her up for her individual portraits. I love lifestyle newborn sessions because the baby runs the show! We work around her needs and her sleep schedule so everything is as peaceful and low stress as possible. I loved the purple wrap and fur Colleen picked out. She also did a fantastic job decorating Scarlett’s sweet nursery, complete with a rocking unicorn and a gorgeous crib from Restoration Hardware!

There is so much love and joy in this family. I had such a wonderful time getting to know them and capturing their love for each other. Colleen and Schuyler, congratulations on this beautiful little soul joining your family. Scarlett darling, you are such a blessing!!!
