High on my list of new locations to explore this year was Highlands Ranch Mansion, a historic home in Colorado that dates back to the late 1800s. This gorgeous property is open to the public for tours and it is a popular wedding venue. The incredible architecture and the meticulously kept gardens are absolutely beautiful. There is even a great spot with a mountain view within walking distance from the Mansion. I was thrilled when Rachel suggested we use this location for their family portraits this year!
Rachel and I met at church about 7 years ago and we have been great friends ever since! Rachel is the kind of friend who I know I can always count on. She is steadfast, loyal, passionate, and fearless. I admire her so much! And their three little ones, Lucy, Charlie and Toby are seriously the sweetest, funniest kids! I enjoy them so much. The last time I took family pictures for Chris and Rachel was two years ago. It’s so fun to look back and see how much their sweet kiddos have grown, and how much I have grown as a photographer!
Spring sessions can be tricky in Colorado because the weather can be so unpredictable. Right when we got there, some big clouds rolled in and it even sprinkled for a moment! But then the clouds passed and that gorgeous sunset GLOW came back and made everything look absolutely magical. I was in photographer heaven!!!
Chris and Rachel, thank you both for being who God has called you to be. You are world changers and you represent Christ’s love to others in such a powerful way. I am blessed to know you! Thank you for allowing me the privilege of capturing your beautiful family!
Love, Elena
