Kaitlyn and Jacob’s winter wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado was an absolute dream! I was so honored to be the one to capture this incredible wedding planned by Ivory Events. The Spruce Mountain Events venue has so many gorgeous outdoor places for portraits, and the cabin reception space with the large fireplace is so cozy. I also loved all the white lights hanging up around the venue and on the large pine trees. Spruce Mountain Ranch really is the perfect place for a cozy, magical winter wedding!
We started the day in the bridal suite at Ruby’s Cottage. Kaitlyn and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by Shauna with Captivate Beauty. Then the bride got into her gorgeous dress and put on the finishing touches! The guys were getting ready at Albert’s lodge in a fun groom’s suite complete with video games, a pool table and a bar! Once the bride and groom were ready, they shared their first look out by the snow covered lake. It was such a sweet moment! We took some bride and groom portraits and their bridal party portraits, and then everyone headed back inside to warm up before the ceremony.
Kaitlyn and Jacob had an outdoor ceremony in front of the most incredible floral moon created by the very talented Painted Primrose. All of the florals for the wedding were just stunning! I loved the pink, blue and lavender color scheme. Florals were really important to the couple and they definitely went all out to bring their vision to life! Kaitlyn and Jacob were married in front of their closest friends and family, and sealed their vows with a kiss.
After the ceremony, we whisked the bride and groom away to head up to the hill for some epic sunset portraits! We caught the sun just as it was setting and the results were absolutely breathtaking. It had been overcast earlier in the day and I wasn’t sure if we would be able to get true sunset portraits, so I was thrilled that the sun came out at just the right time! From there we headed back for their reception.
Kaitlyn and Jacob singed their marriage license, had their grand entrance, and enjoyed an amazing dinner provided by Footers Catering. And in keeping with their love of florals, dinner included edible flower petals as a garnish! I just loved the gorgeous tablescapes, florals, and unique napkins on the tables. The bride and groom cut their cake made by Kim and Jakes Cakes, listened to heartfelt speeches, enjoyed live music by the Dave Rohlf Jazz Band, and Kaitlyn shared a dance with her father.
When I first met with Jacob and Kaitlyn about their wedding almost a year ago, I remember them mentioning how much they were hoping for snow on their wedding day. During the reception, their wish came true! Big, beautiful snowflakes started falling! I got my flash set up and we ran out into the snowstorm to capture some incredible images. The wet pavement reflected the lights in the trees which made it even more magical. They ended their amazing day with a dance under the string twinkle lights in the falling snow. It truly was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Make sure to scroll to the very end to see the magical snow pictures!!!
Kaitlyn and Jacob, thank you for trusting me to capture your day at Spruce Mountain Ranch. It was amazing seeing your vision come to life with the stunning florals, mountain views and snow. It was an absolute dream!!! Congratulations, love birds!
