I met Candace at church through a mutual friend. I was thrilled when she asked me to take their family portraits! She wanted a Christmas feel to the session so I suggested the Church of Saint Philip in the Field. This tiny, historic church was built in 1872 and is so charming. Behind the church is an open field that just GLOWS when the sun is setting! It was the perfect place for their family pictures. Also Candace did an AMAZING job coordinating all of their outfits. (How gorgeous is that green dress?!)Thankfully we were able to schedule on one of the last warm evenings of our fall season in Colorado.
I met Candace’s husband Wayne and their three kiddos Josiah, Micah and Moriah for our shoot. When we arrived, Moriah came up to me and handed me a baby gift!!! Candace knew I had a baby girl just two months ago and she picked out the sweetest little outfits for her. It blessed me so much that she would be so thoughtful!
We had such a fun evening. I loved that Candace and Wayne were up for a few romantic shots (my favorite!!!) and the ones of their daughter running free through the field just make my heart so happy. And I just melted seeing the two big brothers Josiah and Micah being so sweet to their little sister. While I always make sure to get that “Christmas card shot” where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling, I also love to capture families just being themselves and loving on each other.
Candace and Wayne, thank you for being such wonderful clients! I can’t wait to see which image makes this Christmas card this year!
