When Sarah reached out to me about capturing her little one on the way, I was so honored! I discovered that she and her husband Jacob were waiting to find out the gender of their baby, which was so fun because my husband and I also chose to wait with our first born! After Sarah had her baby, she let me know that they had in fact had a BOY! I was so thrilled for them. We scheduled his light and airy lifestyle newborn session for a few days after he was born.

The Session Details

When I arrived at their beautiful home, I was surprised to see they had already painted the nursery and hung a sweet canvas from Etsy with Jameson’s name on it! The room was so cute and put together, it looked like they had known it was a boy for months! I started in the nursery with some detail shots. Then we took portraits of the whole family, including their adorable dog Duke who joined in right away, posing perfectly. I got Jameson wrapped up in a swaddle and did some individual portraits of him on the bed. He was absolutely perfect! I loved getting detail images of his little feet and lips. How tiny newborns are never ceases to amaze me!

We also used a sweet bassinet Sarah had for him, and at this point baby boy woke up for some milk and I was able to capture is beautiful eyes!!! We also did some portraits in their master bedroom which had beautiful light coming in through all of the windows. The light colored furniture and bedding was perfect for a light and airy lifestyle newborn session! We ended with a few more individual portraits of baby Jameson in my favorite basket.

I love that photography allows me to have a small part in the most significant moments of my client’s lives. Capturing images like these that I know will be treasured for generations brings me so much joy. I am so happy for this sweet family, and I know baby Jameson is and will always be loved beyond measure.
